PHOTOS: Sea turtle rescued in St. Augustine thanks to fire department, FWC, others

Jacksonville, FL — It was a multi-agency effort.

An injured sea turtle is recovering, after the St. Augustine Fire Department, staff from the St. Augustine Municipal Marina, and Florida Fish and Wildlife stepped in to rescue him.

According to the fire department, the turtle was found at the marina on Friday and appeared in distress. Once out of the water, they discovered damage to its shell.

The turtle has since been transported to the Sea Turtle Hospital at UF Whitney lab, where they wish him a "speedy" recovery.
