Jacksonville, FL — A suspect is under arrest following a bank robbery this morning in Orange Park. Clay County Sheriff's Deputies say the robbery happened at the Bank of America on Blanding near the Orange Park Mall.
The suspect, who was described as being close to 70-years-old, fled to Jacksonville. A Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant pulled over the vehicle and arrested the suspect on I-10 near Lane Avenue.
Sgt. Dylan Bryan, who serves as a Public Information Officer with FHP, says he was assisted by a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer.
Clay Deputies say the suspect implied he had a gun in a note that was handed to the teller, but a gun was not found.
We are working to update the suspect information and the charges that the person will be facing.
