Jax Beach Mayor Chris Hoffman told Action News Jax today through text that on May 4 Jax Beach, Neptune Beach, and Atlantic Beach all had a joint meeting over what is being promoted for the Orange Crush festival.
They discussed the history of the event, and specifically, when it was hosted in Tybee Island.
Orange Crush is a yearly, three-day event that has live music, car shows, and even beach days.
The festival brings out hundreds of people, but for some, it has a negative reputation.
After speaking to several people in Jax Beach today, we noticed not many even knew about the festival.
Lakeshia Wilson, who has been to the event before, says she has never had any problems while attending.
“We should just try it out and see how it goes. I think it will bring a lot of businesses to the area,” Wilson said.

According to reports, the festival was supposed to be hosted in Daytona Beach but was called off.
We did ask Mayor Hoffman if they’ve heard from the organizer of this event.
She sent this message back saying:
“We have reached out to them, but COJB has received no official request or event application.”
We also spoke with Willy Moore, who is originally from Alabama and never heard of the event.
He says as long as city officials prepare for the crowds, everything should be okay.
“It’s positive right? A lot of people are going to be excited about it, it’s good thing,” Moore said.
