When authorities arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The crash also caused significant damage to the side of the house.
Investigators believe the crash may be connected to a fight that occurred a few blocks away earlier in the morning, during which shots were reportedly fired.
Residents on West 8th Street were shocked to see a heavy police presence and a crime scene in their typically quiet neighborhood.
Many said this was the first time they had ever heard of a shooting in the area.

“Crazy, man. I’ve been here for about a year, so I’ve never seen anything like this before,” said Jacob Camlby, a local resident who witnessed the aftermath of the crash.
Kenya Pugh, who has only lived in the area for a few months, also shared her surprise.
“Our area, our street is known for drug activity, bad things, but as I told you, it’s not the area, it’s the people in the area,” Pugh said.
Despite the recent violence, Pugh added that she sees police patrol the area regularly.

“But when they come, they come deep. But it’s to the point where this shouldn’t happen,” she said. “I know the cops are good here, so my safety is pretty good.”
Authorities are continuing their investigation and believe the two incidents may be related, though details remain unclear.
Police have detained two individuals who are being questioned as witnesses to both the altercation and the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
