“Coming to get some snacks and food, that way I won’t have to be on the road,” Alex Taylor said outside a Waycross Walmart on Monday.

According to the Action News Jax First Alert Weather Center, Glynn County and Brunswick are likely looking at about a quarter inch of freezing rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

However, in Waycross and Ware County, two-plus inches of snow are in the forecast.

Waycross neighbors like Thrift remember the last time they had snow on the ground back in 2018.

“Pretty much the whole town shut down,” Thrift said. “You want it to, ‘cus pretty much nobody here knows how to drive in it.”

Waycross residents have advice for those thinking about driving on the roads in the conditions:

“Stay home,” suggested David Jenkins.

“Stay home. That’s what Imma do,” added Taylor.
