NFL Alumni Jacksonville Chapter to host vaccine event prior to Jags game

TIAA Bank Field (via the Jacksonville Jaguars)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — To help educate and get people vaccinated against COVID-19, the NFL Alumni Jacksonville Chapter is teaming up with the Duval County Department of Health to host a mobile vaccination clinic and pregame tailgate near Gate 1 of TIAA Bank Field at 10 a.m. just before the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Buffalo Bills.

There will be food, music, NFL alumni giveaways and a chance to meet former Jags players like Najee Goode and Kyle Bosworth. Goode and Bosworth have been using their voices to courage people to be informed of the vaccine as well as address their vaccine questions with healthcare providers.

“I have a father at high risk, a mother who works in a hospital, and family members who have gotten COVID, so I felt it was the right thing for me to get vaccinated,” said Goode.  “Many NFL players deal with post-career health issues as a result of their playing days. The NFL Alumni mission is to take care of their health as well as caring for our kids and our community. I understand people may have questions about vaccination, but it’s important that you educate yourself about the vaccines and the risks of COVID-19 and do everything you can to protect yourself and the people around you.”

The event will have the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines on hand for anyone who wants to get vaccinated.
