Jacksonville, Fl. — 25-year-old Manavjit Singh was arrested on Tuesday for extortion, aggravated stalking, and possessing child pornography.
According to the 14-page arrest report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Singh had met the underage girl in a teen chat room and began an online relationship. Police Singh was upfront with his age and the victim told him her age as well, but that did not stop him from talking to her. The two talked on a regular basis through Skype and Snapchat.
The teen girl eventually got a phone for one of her birthdays leading her and Singh to talk over the phone. It was then when the girl said the 25-year-old had started pressuring her into sending him sexually explicit pictures online. The police report says the girl was reluctant at first, but eventually sent pictures online.
The teen told police that Singh started to become controlling and would get upset if she didn’t talk to him or send him any pictures. She had tried to send their relationship several times, but he would threaten her. He would even go as far as making threats to shoot her family and kill himself.
The report also said that the Singh posted her pictures online under a fake Facebook account.
Singh is being held on a nearly $500,000 bond. His next court date is August 30, 2017.
