Organizers are planning a weekend of events at the Clay County Fairgrounds for people looking to take in some live music and traditional fair food.
Tasha Hyder is the general manager for the Clay County Fair, and she says this is a way to give the community something to look forward to while helping out the vendors at the same time.
“We’ve recruited quite a few local bands that will be here Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” Hyder says.
She says there will be close to 20 food vendors open those days. As a bonus Friday and Saturday, there will be drive-in movies with oversized parking spaces. Friday’s movie is The Addams Family and Saturday’s movie is Sonic the Hedgehog.
“This is a new event that we are putting on,” Hyder says, pointing out it is not a full-fledged fair like people are used to.
