There's a great opportunity in Jacksonville tomorrow for anyone with ties to the military who is looking for a job.
The Navy is holding a tri-base job fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morocco Shrine Center at 3800 St. Johns Bluff Road South.
"We have 140 companies signed up for this job fair, and I tell you this is a really exciting moment for us." says Paul Stewart, family life specialist at the Fleet and Family Support Center at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
NAS Jax is hosting the event along with Naval Station Mayport and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. The event is open to all active-duty military, those separating or retiring from the military, reservists, retirees with ID cards, military spouses and family members or veterans.
Stewart says it's also a good opportunity if you don't need a job right away, but you know you'll be looking soon.
"If you're more than six to eight months out but you just want to check out the job fair, just bring some informational one-page resumes on yourself," Stewart says.
He says all the companies are military friendly, and they can hold your resume to contact you later when the time is right.
"We recommend when you come to the job fair you are dressed for success," Stewart says.
