Naval Station Mayport holding security exercise

Jacksonville, FL — Don’t be alarmed if you see more security or hear what sounds like gunfire around Naval Station Mayport this week.

The base is holding security force protection exercises through Thursday. We’re told that will involve an increased security presence and potentially the sound of simulated gunfire. This could also mean slowdowns at gate access points.
