The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office is offering you an opportunity to learn new self-defense and personal safety skills.
This basic women’s course will be offered four times a year, for 12 women at a time. The next one is Tuesday, May 22nd from 6-8PM. The course is free to attend and will take place in the NCSO Training Room at 77151 Citizens Circle in Yulee.
Sheriff Bill Leeper says the course is designed to provide knowledge and hands on experience. They will provide safety plans for traveling locally and abroad, basic self-defense, and daily personal safety practices, among other things.
Participants must be female residents of Nassau County, who are at least 13-years-old. If you’re under 18-years-old, you need a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. Appropriate attire is required, which consists of workout-style clothing and tennis shoes.
You can get more information on the course, including details on how to register, on the NCSO website.
