Nassau County retail theft sting leads to 2 arrests

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were arrested in Nassau County after Operation Probable Cause, a two-day retail theft sting.

The operation happened on Dec. 19 and 20.

According to a social media post, 44-year-old Mindy Rupert was arrested on Dec. 19.

Authorities said she was trying to chide about $60 worth of clothing and jewelry in her purse at the Yulee Walmart on State Road 200. Loss prevention staff noticed the hidden items while Rupert made a legitimate purchase.

The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office found Rupert and searched her car. Inside, deputies found fentanyl.

Rupert now faces charges of petty theft with a prior conviction and felony drug possession.

On Dec. 20, 44-year-old Jorge Andres Agudelo Chulito was arrested.

NCSO said they responded to the Home Depot on State Road 200 in Yulee regarding a theft in progress.

According to the social media post, Chulito entered the store with an empty cart and left without paying for several things.

The K9 unit found the suspect’s car and conducted a traffic stop. They found the stolen items in his car.

Chulio was charged with grand theft over $750 and driving without a valid license.
