JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — You’re invited to attend a naming ceremony for the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department headquarters building.

The building is located at 515 N. Julia Street.
It’s going to be dedicated to the late Gary F. Keys Sr.
According to a news release, Keys was “a visionary leader whose policies and standards have profoundly influenced generations of firefighters over his several decade career and beyond.”

He held many positions: Chief of the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, President of the firefighters’ union, Chief of Operations, and more.
The ceremony is on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan is expected to be in attendance.
