A member of the Duval County School Police Department has been arrested today on an out of state warrant, according to the district.

Lt. Sean MacMaster is facing charges out of Michigan, according to his Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Duval County Public Schools says the charges aren't related to the district or any students in the district. They are monitoring the situation closely.

MacMaster will not have any contact with students in Duval if he is released from custody pending the outcome of the internal investigation.

"We have the highest expectations of professional and personal conduct for those who are charged with serving and protecting our students,” said School Police Director Micheal Edwards. “We are monitoring this investigation closely and will take appropriate action as the facts of the matter emerge.”

This is an active investigation, so DCPS says they will not comment further.
