Two classmates of Kalil McCoy have been sentenced in her killing last year.

McCoy, who was 20 at the time, was shot in the head while riding in the car with Frederick Wade and three other men.

Kennard Mahone and Alfred Mears IV both pleaded guilty to a charge of Accessory After the Fact.

Prosecutors said Mahone and Mears helped come up with a story to tell police.  They both were sentenced to one year in jail followed by twelve years of probation.

Two other defendants have been sentenced, including Frederick Wade who is now serving life in prison after being convicted of murdering McCoy.

The other, Jonathan Brooks pleaded guilty to helping Wade hide McCoy's body.  He received 15 years in prison.

The medical examiner said if the four classmates had taken McCoy to the hospital immediately after the shooting, she may have survived.
