Man turns himself in for aggravated stalking incident that led to Amazon fulfillment center lockdown

Jacksonville, FL — UPDATE: JSO says Ronald Jones turned himself in on Friday, January 25th.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching for 51-year-old Ronald Jones, on charges of aggravated stalking and violation of probation.

JSO first released Jones’ photo on the VOP charge, but later confirmed they were seeking him in connection to an aggravated stalking case near Pecan Park Road as well.

That case led to the Amazon fulfillment center being briefly locked down, so that JSO could search the building, according to Amazon. The company says it was determined there was no threat to the building.

The incident report says the victim reported that the suspect called her this morning and told her he was heading to Amazon to kill her. The victim further reported that the suspect had told her last night that “he was close watching her”, and “he was going to kill himself and he does not have anything to live for”, according to the incident report. Additionally, police say the suspect told the victim that he knew where she lived and worked, he has a gun, and he was ready to die today and would make police do it while the victim witnessed it.

The incident report further says the victim reported that the suspect threatened to kill not only her, but her children as well.

JSO tracked Jones’ cell phone to Shenandoah Avenue, but did not find him. Police say they spoke with him by using the victim’s phone, during which time he threatened to kill himself.
