Man behind Fernandina Beach bomb threats pleads guilty

He wanted to be known as “The F.B Bomber”- a man accused of making a half dozen bomb threats in Fernandina Beach has pleaded guilty.

28-year-old David Moody wrote six bomb threat notes and left them around Fernandina Beach over a few days in early 2016. The notes threatened a bomb would explode in Downtown Fernandina Beach, killing multiple people. One was signed "The F.B. BOMBER!"

Prosecutors say Moody even wore gloves while preparing the notes and destroyed the materials used to make the threats, in order to conceal his identity.

No actual explosives were found.

Moody now faces up to five years in federal prison.
