Jacksonville attorney Kelly Mathis was sentenced to six years in prison for operating a multi-million dollar internet cafe charity gambling scam.
Chris Heath with our newsparter at WFTV in Orlando says Kelly Mathis is headed back to the first coast because he was released on his own recognizance.
Mathis was convicted of being the mastermind behind a 300 million dollar scandal connected to the Allied Veterans charity.
His lawyers have already filed an appeal which could take anywhere from a year to a year-and-a-half to play out.
