JSO: Three women arrested in connection to three recent overdoses at the Duval County Jail

Arrests following reported overdoses at Duval County Jail (Jacksonville Sheriff's Office)

Jacksonville, FL — Following the apparent overdoses of three inmates at the Duval County Jail this past Tuesday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is now announcing three arrests in connection.

Monique Hibbert, 26, Carlisa Alston, 28, and Cassandra Spencer, 32, are all facing charges of delivering/distributing heroin and introducing/possessing contraband into a county detention facility.

According to their arrest reports, investigators believe narcotics-- suspected to be heroin-- were introduced into the jail by a female inmate.

Police say those narcotics were later obtained by Spencer and Alston, who then distributed them to the three women who then went on to overdose.

WOKV tried to clarify with JSO if these three women arrested are the same three women that overdosed, or if there are actually six total women involved, but police told us that, "Medical information is not public record once they are our inmate."
