Jacksonville — A sergeant with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is not injured, after they were hit in an early morning crash in Arlington.
According to JSO, the sergeant was traveling north on Monument Road around 3:50 Wednesday morning, when they tried to turn left onto Regency Square BLVD. That’s when they were hit by a car that was going south on Monument. 3 people were in the car that hit the patrol car and police say they were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say the sergeant did not have his lights or sirens on at the time of the crash. The seargent even stayed on scene to help after the crash.
Traffic homicide investigators are taking the lead on the investigation and they are trying to figure out whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
