Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says their hearts are broken after one of their police K-9’s was shot and killed while on the job.
Police say K-9 Fang was chasing an armed carjacking suspect near I-10 and Cecil Commerce. The suspect was later caught by another JSO K-9 that had responded to the scene.
Police have not released the suspect’s identity.
K-9 Fang worked special events, including football games, according to JSO. K-9 Fang was a three-year-old German Shepherd, who worked both as a bomb detector and patrol dog.
