A narcotics detective with JSO has been injured in a crash on 8th and Laura in Springfield.
We’re told the car with 5-year veteran Kreshnik Isaraj inside stopped in the middle of the road when they saw the suspect. Isaraj was hit by a car he didn’t see coming because of another officer getting out of the car as well.
Police say Isaraj was injured in several places, including the ankles, legs, and knees, but the injuries are not considered life-threatening and he is awake and talking.
The suspect who was being chased is now in police custody, although there is no word yet on what charges he faces.
