Jacksonville, Fl. — Due to conflicting stories, Jacksonville Police are unable to determine who is at fault for a crash involving a patrol car that sent an officer to the hospital.
The crash happened late Thursday night in the Regency area at the intersection of Regency Square Boulevard and Monument Road.
According to the police report, the officer said she was driving south on Monument Road claiming she had ‘a steady green light.’ The officer then said she saw the second car which was a Ford Focus turning West on Regency Square Boulevard, but was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.
The driver of the Ford Focus says he was stopped at the intersection for about a minute. He says he had a green left arrow, allowing him to turn. In the police report, he said he did not see the JSO officer driving through the intersection.
Officers at the scene were able to talk to a witness who said he had a red light facing East at the intersection. He mentioned that he could not see the north or south traffic lights. He said he saw the Ford Focus turning left as the patrol officer was driving through the intersection.
