Jacksonville FL — On Thursday, Jacksonville Police announced an arrest of one of their officers. Undersheriff Pat Ivey says earlier in the day they were made aware of allegations of domestic violence and that led to the arrest of Officer Jonathan T. Hunt.
“This individual, because he was just hired in November of last year does not have civil service protections, and therefore he has been fired.” Undersheriff Ivey says.
He says this is the ninth arrest of a JSO employee this year. Last year there were three employee arrests.
“In 2019, that was a very low number, compared to like 2017 and 2018, where we had in the neighborhood of about, I want to say nine to ten or eleven, in those years also.” Undersheriff Ivey says.
This is the fourth JSO officer arrested in 2020.
