JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested an officer for a felony charge of bribery of a public servant.
Officer Brian R. Pace was arrested last night. JSO says that Pace responded to a burglary incident in May. The victim said that her phone and another item was stolen. Pace later called the victim back and said he had her property and he would give it back if she sent him inappropriate images. Last night he was planning on meeting with the victim, but was instead met with officers and was arrested.
He did resign, meaning that he won’t have civil service protections. Pace was an eleven year veteran with JSO. He has worked as a bailiff and then a corrections officer. He became a police officer in 2017 according to Undersheriff Pat Ivey. According to the JSO Jail Log, Pace is not eligible for bond.
Pace is the seventh JSO employee arrested in 2020.
