Update: Man held without bond following stabbing and attempted robbery in San Marco

35-year-old Mario McQuay is charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery following Sunday’s attack.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The suspect who was arrested following a Sunday night armed robbery in San Marco is being held in jail on charges of armed robbery and aggravated battery.

35-year-old Mario McQuay was arrested blocks away from the Fore Score Golf Tavern.

JSO reports that at around 7:20 p.m. a man walked into Fore Score Golf Tavern wielding a knife and attempted to steal a wallet after approaching the hostess stand.

The suspect made threats to the business before stabbing an employee and fleeing on foot.

An employee was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
