Jacksonville — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that one of their own was arrested for raping a woman. Corrections Officer Nathan McClough, 25, was booked into the Duval County jail Monday night, according to jail records. He faces charges of sexual battery, among others.
Undersheriff Pat Ivey said McClough went to a party in early September. “During the party, the first victim became incapacitated with alcohol, and had gone into a bedroom to go to sleep,” Ivey said. After going into that bedroom and raping the woman, Ivey said McClough “then went to a second bedroom and attempted to force sexual activity on a second victim.” That second victim was able to fight him off, according to Ivey.
McClough has since resigned his position with JSO; he’d been a corrections officer for 3 years. This marks the 6th JSO employee arrested in 2018. Last year there were 10 arrests. McClough had one other written reprimand in his employee file.
Now resigned JSO corrections officer’s bond just set at over $325K on 3 counts including first degree sexual battery on multiple alleged assaults at a party last month. @ActionNewsJax @WOKVNews pic.twitter.com/Weufgp38tx
