JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 17-year employee with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was arrested Thursday following a domestic incident. Corrections Sgt. Donald Boston was charged with one count of domestic battery, a first-degree misdemeanor. Boston is accused of grabbing a family member who fell to the ground during the incident, police said.

Boston was hired by JSO in May 2007 and promoted to sergeant in October 2022. Boston has been stripped of his authority as a corrections officer and placed on administrative status as a result of his arrest, Joe Cowan, director of JSO’s department of patrol and enforcement, said at a news conference Monday morning.

Boston is the 14th JSO employee arrested this year, Cowan said.
