Friday, St. Johns County announced beaches in the county are partially reopening. The county says the beaches will only be open from 6AM until 12PM for exercising and other physical activities seven days a week.

The county says activities such as walking, running, exercising, surfing, biking, fishing and swimming will be allowed, but activities like sunbathing and sitting on the beach are not allowed. They say items like coolers, chairs, blankets, umbrellas, tents and any item that shows you are hanging will not be allowed. You still have to follow CDC social distancing guidelines, which includes limiting groups of people to no more than 10 and staying at least six feet away from other people.

The county says all public parking lots are now open, but you still can’t drive on the beaches.

If you have any other questions you can call the St. Johns County Emergency Operations Center COVID-19 Hotline at 904.824.5550.
