An employee of Jacksonville Fire and Rescue is accused of stealing from the station.
25-year-old Joshua Williams has been arrested for petit theft. The charge stems from an incident on November 22nd, when he was caught on camera taking money at the Fire Station on Huron Street, according to police.
Williams’ arrest report says the JSO Integrity Unit started investigating after receiving reports of several thefts at different fire stations. Williams had been present at those stations at the times of the theft, according to JSO.
On November 22, JSO money was put in a few locations in the Fire Station’s kitchen and a camera was set up to record any activity. The arrest report says JSO determined Williams stole $167 during a delivery stop at the station, and later found him with the money in his pocket.
The arrest report says Williams made a few comments to police, but what he says has been redacted.
Williams’ arraignment has been set for next week.
