JEA hosting ‘resource fair’ to help seniors save money

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — JEA is hosting its monthly senior resource fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday at JEA Headquarters, 225 N. Pearl St., in Downtown Jacksonville. At the free event, local agencies join JEA Customer Care agents and JEA Ambassadors.

This month, Catholic Charities will meet seniors who have been referred by United Way’s 2-1-1, a JEA news release states. Catholic Charities is the administrator of JEA’s Neighbor to Neighbor Fund, which provides financial assistance in paying a portion of the utility bill to those meeting federal guidelines.

Organizations participating the event include Jacksonville Transportation Authority, ElderSource SHINE Program, Lutheran Social Services Steps 2 Success, Catholic Charities, United Way’s 2-1-1, and JEA’s Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program. The groups provide information on available resources that help seniors save money, the JEA news release states.
