Jacksonville, FL — Both the Jacksonville Humane Society and Animal Care and Protective Services are offering free adoptions right now.
JHS says their shelter is full, so adoption fees are being waived for dogs over 30 pounds through Sunday. Additional fees, including the City license fee, may still apply. They’re located at 8464 Beach Blvd.
ACPS is offering free adoptions for all animals through the month of April, as part of what they’re calling their spring adopt-a-thon. City license fee may still apply. They are located at 2020 Forest St, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
This announcement comes as ACPS was selected to receive a “Lifesaving Grant Investment” from Petco Foundation to expand its animal behavior program and increase adoptions by participating in community events.
