Jacksonville stabbing victim dies from injuries

A man is dead after being stabbed multiple times outside of a apartment complex on the Southside off of Old Baymeadows Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Detectives say they responded to the Avesta Baymeadows apartments Sunday morning and found a 26-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. 

The victim was transported to UF Health Jacksonville, where he later died.

Police say they have taken one man to police headquarters for questioning because he reportedly was seen with the victim before the stabbing.

No suspects have been named in the case.  The identity of the victim has not been released.
