Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigating reported shooting in Jamestown area

A young child was killed and his older sister was injured in a shooting in Buffalo, New York Friday night.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred around 10:00 a.m. in the 13000 block of Yellow Bluff Road.

According to JSO, Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found an adult male in his mid-thirties suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the initial investigation, the victim was inside a residence when a verbal altercation occurred between him and the suspect, who had entered the home. During the argument, the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene in a silver minivan.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a white t-shirt and multi-colored shorts.

JSO’s Crime Scene Unit is processing evidence at the location, while Violent Crime Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and video footage.
