Jacksonville, FL — JEA is going to begin a review of privatization.
The push is being led by JEA board member Tom Petway, who issued a challenge to explore privatization during a meeting Tuesday, according to the Florida Times-Union.
Mayor Lenny Curry says it's a simple request that citizens and city leaders explore the value of their public assets, and how utility customers can be best served.
Curry says he welcomes the challenge and will work with City Council leadership to answer these questions.
