JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Shane Allen Gibson pled guilty on Wednesday to having and giving away an “improvised explosive bomb,” according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
According to the plea agreement, in April 2023, Gibson “possessed and transferred” a bomb to a person he knew was a convicted felon.

The device was one of three homemade explosive devices given to the convicted felon by Gibson.
The Attorney’s Office said an examiner from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives concluded the bomb could cause damage, injury, and death if used.
Gibson pled guilty to possession of a destructive device and transfer of a destructive device to a convicted felon.

He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison for the possession charge and up to 15 years in federal prison for the transfer charge.
A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
