Jacksonville International Airport to add thousands of new parking spots

A third parking garage is estimated to cost $90- $100 million.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — As the Jacksonville International Airport prepares for the summer travel rush, it is looking forward to making room for more flights and travelers. A $300 million new concourse is expected to be complete by 2025, and now the airport board approved funds for the design of a third parking garage, which is expected to be completed near the end of 2025.

Greg Willis, the Marketing and Public Relations Manager at the Jacksonville Aviation Authority provided several ways JAX is working to expand parking.

  • Economy Lot 1: Add several hundred new spaces
  • Airport Employee Parking: Repurpose current employee parking for 250-300 valet spaces
  • Expand Economy Lot 3: Employee parking will be relocated to this area. Once completed, JAX will have 800 spaces for employees.
  • New Parking Garage: A third parking garage will provide about 2,000 additional spaces. Construction would likely finish near the end of 2025.
