A Ford pickup truck driven by a man in his late 50s was leaving the Spencer Trace subdivision on Spencers Trace Drive, making a left turn on Argyle Forest Boulevard.

JSO said the truck pulled into the path of the motorcyclist and hit them.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene of the crash, JSO said.

Police have not yet publicly identified the driver of the motorcycle. The driver of the truck is cooperating with investigators.

“There are no signs of impairment and investigators will be evaluating if speed was a factor,” JSO said.

Ahead of Thanksgiving, JSO is advising people to plan their route before hitting the road and leave with plenty of time so they’re not rushing.

This is the 138th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 25th involving a motorcycle, JSO said.
