Jacksonville, FL — A Jacksonville family of six is recovering after a scare in the Florida Keys.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, four adults and two children were in a pontoon boat near the Seven Mile Bridge, when they became swamped by waves and began sinking.
The family was able to call police, with a marine deputy arriving a short time later. We’re told that deputy was able to rescue the family, with help from FWC and a good Samaritan boater.
The boat was later recovered by Sea Tow.
FWC is continuing to investigate.
