Jacksonville FL — On Wednesday the Jacksonville Civic Council, along with several local healthcare systems, launched a new COVID-19 awareness campaign designed to increase the vaccination rate locally. It’s called “Get the Facts Jax” and it will include a website with resources, PSA’s, and other resources which they say will help residents get reliable information and current facts about why and how to get vaccinated.

The council says currently Jacksonville is behind the national and statewide average in vaccination rates and is currently one of the hot spots for COVID transmission.

“Healthy communities support workers and a thriving economy to help drive business growth,” said John Delaney, former Jacksonville mayor and chairman of the executive committee of JCC. “Increased awareness about our great city along with the increased resources that come with population growth represent a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for this city. Jacksonville cannot and will not capitalize on this opportunity without higher COVID-19 vaccination rates.”
