Jacksonville, Fl — A redefining riverfront project in downtown Jacksonville has cleared its final hurdle.

City Council gave unanimous approval on a $114 million incentives package to help fund a $400 million project along the riverfront near the sports complex. The other approximately $300 million would be covered by the Jags.

If approved, this would include a 5-star, Four Seasons hotel as well as dining, retail and office space.

The bill language calls for a ‘luxury hotel’ with no fewer than 170 rooms and no fewer than 23 Class A condominium units.

The development would include a marina as well as improvement to Metropolitan Park.

The Downtown Investment Authority approved the project back in July and city council members will take it back up at their meeting beginning at 5 o’clock this evening.
