JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee are looking for venues to host independent events during the Republican National Convention.

The committee said they are expecting 15,000 people at the convention. The main event will take place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, but they are expecting 500 other independent events to take place during the four-week convention. These events will include concerts, panels, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, late-night parties, workspace, and more.

Property owners who are interested will have to fill out two forms. The venue commitment and information forms can be found at visitjacksonville.com/2020-venuemou and visitjacksonville.com/2020-venue-info

The Host Committee announced last week that they are also looking for vendors to register for the event.

Based on economic impact studies of past events, National Conventions have the potential to create hundreds of direct jobs with an associated tens of millions of dollars in labor income, draw tens of thousands of visitors to the host city and inject $100+ million into the local economy.
