Investigation underway following Jacksonville train derailment

Jacksonville, FL — No one was injured in a train derailment on Jacksonville's northside late Sunday night.

According to CSX eight rail cars were involved in the accident around 10pm near U.S. 17/Main Street north of Busch Drive.

Two of the rail cars were carrying ethanol and derailed into Cedar Creek.  There were no indications of any leaks, according to a statement from CSX.

The Jacksonville-based company is mobilizing experts and specialized contractors and developing a plan to restore the area. CSX says it may take several days to complete that work.
