Jacksonville, FL — An open field at Middleburg Elementary School was the landing spot for an Army helicopter on Tuesday night, a highly unusual event for even our military-rich community.
The Clay County District School Police Department said it’s investigating the circumstances surrounding the emergency landing. There were no injuries or damage to the school or property.
A second helicopter landed late in the night to deliver parts, and both helicopters safely departed late in the night. Police said the helicopter is a military helicopter from Savannah.
