Jacksonville, FL — They want to give new meaning to “tail”gating at a football game.

We're learning more about how to get your dog in to the new Pet Paradise Park dog park, which will be open at TIAA Bank Field for Jaguars home games this season. WOKV first told you back in April when the Jaguars announced the park, during their annual "State of the Franchise" event. Now, the team confirms the park will be operational for their first preseason game against the New Orleans Saints on August 9th.

TEN THINGS TO KNOW: Jaguars "State of the Franchise"

The team has now announced three ways that you can get your dog in to the park, which is expected to serve around 250 dogs through the season.

Your first option is to enter the Pet Paradise Top Dog sweepstakes, though the Jaguars website. Ten dogs will be selected each week to get in to the park, and that dog's family will get two tickets to the game. One of the ten dogs will also be featured on the videoboards and Jags' social media, as part of a grand prize package.

The second option is one that has a charitable end- you can bid on five gameday packages that will be available for each home game, with the proceeds benefitting the Jacksonville Humane Society. The packages include two game tickets, one parking pass, and access for one dog to Pet Paradise Park, and you can bid for those on the JHS website. Pet Paradise says they hope to raise $50,000 for JHS through the season.

Finally, if you are a Jags season ticket holder, you have another option. Complete a form on the Jags website, and you will be eligible to win one of five additional spots open in the park for season ticket holders exclusively.

No walk-ups will be allowed on game day. All dogs that are selected for a spot will need to preregister at a Pet Paradise location, which will include a behavior test and verification of vaccinations. Pet owners will not be allowed in the park, but can watch on from the south end zone patio near the park, or enjoy the game from their seats.

The park will be staffed with Pet Paradise employees and a veterinarian at all times. It features a large artificial turf play area, a bone-shaped swimming pool, and palm trees, on the south end zone patio right above the Fields Auto Group Terrace Suite.
