GBI: Suspect shot by officer in Camden County triple shooting

WOODBINE, Ga. — The GBI released more details Thursday about a triple shooting in Camden County on Wednesday. Three people were wounded in the shooting that started inside of a home in the 1700 block of Kinlaw Road, a GBI news release states.

Inside of that home, the GBI said the suspect, Rodney Roundtree, 55, got into an argument with another man and shot him, the news release states.

“Roundtree then left the home and walked down Kinlaw Road shooting at multiple people working at a substation, hitting numerous vehicles,” the GBI news release states.

Roundtree continued down Kinlaw Road where a man was driving in a van. When the van got close enough, Roundtree fired several shots at the vehicle striking the driver, the news release states.

Roundtree continued walking toward the intersection of Kinlaw and Harriets Bluff road where he began shooting at law enforcement officers. The officers returned fire, injuring Roundtree, the news release states. No officers were injured.

Roundtree and the two men he’s accused of shooting were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Multiple charges against Roundtree are expected, the news release states.
