Freedom Boat Club offering free training at the New Boater Experience Day

Boating course teaches basics of staying safe on the water

Jacksonville, Fl. — The Freedom Boat Club is offering a free opportunity for people to learn the basic skills to safely and confidently operate a boat.

The New Boater Experience Day events are scheduled for Wednesday, April 5 and Thursday, April 6 and will be held at Julington Creek. Four slots are available each day at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. Reservations are required and are available on a first come, first-serve basis. Participants must be 21 years or older.

The one-on-one, hour and a half training will be hands on under the direction of licensed Coast Guard instructors. Participants will be introduced to pre-launch boat check-out and boat safety procedures, using late model boats from the Freedom Boat Club fleet.

“The New Boater Experience Day series has been designed to introduce boating basics to those who have never enjoyed boating and who want to learn more,” says Freedom Boat Club CEO Lisa Almeida.
