Jacksonville, FL — Families looking to bring a pet into the home will have the opportunity to do it for free this weekend across Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Humane Society and Animal Care and Protective Services are teaming up with PetSmart Charities to offer free adoptions on all pets this weekend as part of the “Clear the Shelters” movement. The nationwide movement began in 2015 to promote pet adoption.
JHS and ACPS will be at the PetSmart store on Monument Road with more than 200 pets on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both shelter locations will be open with the same free adoption special, though additional fees may apply for all adoptions.
"During this time of year there are so many animals looking for loving homes."
JHS CEO Denice Deisler is thanking the public and PetSmart Charities for their help so they can clear the shelters and keep Jacksonville a no-kill city.
