Jacksonville, FL — A 25-year-old Jacksonville man will now spend the next 19 years and 7 months in federal prison, after pleading guilty to trying to entice a 15-year-old and her 13-year-old friend for sex.
According to court records, the investigation of Panopio started in October 2018, when a Clay Behavioral counselor came to the Clay County Sheriff's Office with a complaint from a guardian of a 15-year-old, who believed the girl was talking to older men on her phone.
Investigators say they found conversations of a sexual nature between that girl and someone they then identified as Panopio.
An undercover agent then posed as that child and continued conversations with Panopio. Court records say Panopio wanted to engage in sexual acts with the 15-year-old and her 13-year-old friend and traveled from Jacksonville to Clay County to do so, where he was arrested.
Panopio pleaded guilty to attempting to entice the two minors back in April. That plea agreement says Panopio admitted to coming to the house for sex with two young girls, and that he had previously had sex with the 15-year-old victim.
Court records say a search of Panopio's phone revealed another 15-year-old victim.
