Jacksonville, FL — Duval County Public Schools says one of their former school police lieutenants has been exonerated of all charges and will be re-hired with the district.
WOKV first told you in May 2019 about the arrest of Sean MacMaster on a warrant out of Michigan. That warrant was later released and revealed the charges he was facing.
"Lt. MacMaster is a respected member of the local law enforcement community. He denies these previously-litigated and unfounded claims by his former spouse. From our perspective this is a gross manipulation of our legal system, not for the purpose of justice for a child’s injury."
Now, the school district says MacMaster has been exonerated on all charges. Additionally, the district says how the charges were even conceived had also been thoroughly investigated both judicially and in Michigan media.
We're told that MacMaster has regained his qualifications to serve as a Duval County Public Schools police officer, including passing another polygraph test and a psychological evaluation. He's set to start on March 16th.
"We are pleased that MacMaster, a highly valued and experienced law enforcement officer, is back among our team of police officers working to keep our schools secure and our students and staff safe," says the district.
The district says MacMaster will not resume his previous role as a lieutenant, because no lieutenant positions are currently available.
